About

Hi! I’m Becky Gomolka. Thanks for visiting my website.

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” – Confucius

In keeping with this wonderful philosophy, Deep in the Heart of Tech™ is my own company, started out of a passion for helping others, a love for working with technology, a passion for writing, and the ability to get jazzed about organizing practically everything!

The goal:

My goal for this company is very simple: to help people! If your needs match my skill set, I am “all in” and ready to help!

Please see the Services Offered and the Testimonials tabs.

My passions are:

  • Helping people – doing whatever I can to make their daily lives better.
  • Facilitating the use of technology – helping others to use, optimize, and enjoy technology – especially since it is more and more a part of our lives all the time.
  • Creating maintainable order out of disorder – be it with paper, email, computer data, time management, or belongings.
  • Working with older people – if you know an older person or couple who are “afraid” of technology or may benefit from organizing help, I’d love to have the opportunity to talk to them and see if I can help!
  • Technical and business writing, as well as consulting and editing for websites and documents – I am passionate about quality, language, writing, and conveying ideas clearly!

Know a “techno-phobe”? Or are you a techno-phobe? I have lots of patience and can help!

A little background on me:

I’ve lived in Texas since 1985, most of that time here in Austin. My professional background is in the Information Technology field, as a software developer and business analyst.

I’ve had the great privilege of working with wonderful people my entire career, and the great fortune to work for some of the top companies out there – Shell Oil, Computer Sciences Corporation, Dell, and Apple.

I am a proud member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and the local Austin chapter of NAPO (we are very fortunate to have one of the strongest chapters in the country right here).

  • I happily serve on the NAPO Austin board as Programs Director.
  • I was co-chair for the 6th Annual Clear Your Clutter Day event that took place in January 2012. I was grateful for this opportunity, learned a lot, and our donation and recycling results were incredible!

I am certified in the Clear & Simple ™ organizing methodology.

I volunteer at hospice – I find it both a privilege and immensely rewarding.

I enjoy distance running and use it as a metaphor for just about everything in life:

  • Set a goal
  • Prepare
  • Arrive at the starting line
  • Keep putting one foot in front of the other
  • Enjoy the scenery along the way, and remember:
  • You WILL cross the finish line!
  • Then: take time to celebrate your accomplishment!
